About the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology:

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is responsible for formulating, implementing, and reviewing national policies in the field of Information Technology, Electronics, and the Internet (all matters other than licensing of Internet Service Providers).

Its mission is to promote e-Governance for empowering citizens; promote the inclusive and sustainable growth of the Electronics, IT, and ITeS industries; enhance India‟s role in Internet Governance; adopt a multipronged approach that includes the development of human resources; promote R&D and innovation; enhancing efficiency through digital services, and ensuring secure cyberspace.

About the Internship:

The Government of India is hiring multiple college students, for a 2-3 month-long paid internship across 17 different areas of work! The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology is hiring a total of 23 students for its summer internship program. At the end of the engagement, you get a certificate issued by the Ministry acknowledging your work.

Eligibility:

• Indian students from recognized universities in India who have secured at least 60% marks in the last held degree or certificate examination and pursuing B.E/ B.Tech, M.E/ M.Tech/M.Sc.(Electronics)/MCA/ DoEACC „B‟ level/LL.B shall be eligible.
• The students who are in the last semester or who will pass out in summer 2021 will not be eligible for the internship. Only students who are in the previous 1 year will be eligible.
• LL.B students would be considered for internship only in the ‘Cyber Law/ IT Act’ area.

Stipend:

10,000 a month

Mode:

The mode of internship i.e. Virtual or physical will be decided by the concerned Supervisor/mentor, based on the requirement. Generally, Interns are required to be present at the Ministry premises from 09.00 am to 05.30
pm, unless otherwise permitted by the Supervisor/Mentor in writing.

Certificate:

Certificates will be issued by the Ministry to the Interns on the completion of the internship and submission of a Report duly countersigned and accepted by the Competent Authority.
